Colour Mixing Wheel.....

This after noon I found a colour mixing wheel in my bookmarks. I have ignored it until today. When I found it again I thought to myself this is exactly what I need to work on. In my thought, colour mixing is an art form all its own and if you can't do it you will be limited in what you can paint.

I started a thread over at Lori Andrews-Come paint with me. Asking that beginners jump in and try their own colour wheel and that the more experienced artist give some constructive critiques.

I had a hard time making my purple and my yellows seem similar. I found out that you use a lot of yellow, a bit of red and a touch of blue when you are mixing colours.

  1. I think you did a great job with this :D I haven't made up a colour wheel in such a long time, I might have to have a go with coloured pencils

  2. Thank you Jennifer.
Your brave doing one in CP it is so painstaking to get colour down.

  3. I love your blog title! The cat cards are really cute and I love the portraits of Bob and Gracie. You did a great job on the color wheel too :)

  4. Now that's a color wheel style I haven't seen before. I'll have to try that.

  5. Hello Paulette,
thnak you for visiting my blog! You have a very nice blog, too and I love your entry for the virutal sketch date and your colour wheel!

  6. Good job, Paulette! BTW, would you stop by my blog please? I have something for you.

  7. Carol, thank you for taking the time to go through my blog. You do beautiful work on animals . I just love the slide show you made.

Sydney, it made it seem more fun to do. I'll have to redo it with more room to draw it right and to work on my colours.

Hi Claudia, thanks for visiting! I was looking at your other blog, what a beautiful place you live in!

    Thanks Jan, will do.
