Virtual sketch date....

I decided at the last minute to jump in on the virtual sketch. I haven't felt like doing much lately (art wise), so when I got to thinking about the virtual sketch this morning, I jumped at doing a quick sketch. I had fun just getting the colours down and not worrying about any thing specific. It is sketchy, but I think I did okay getting across my impression of the photo.

You can go to the Virtual Sketch Date site to see this months photo. It was provided by Leslie Hawes. Thank you Jeanette for hosting!

Here is a list of this months participants:
Rose , Dougie, Melissa , Sherrie, Maggie, Michael
Leslie, Laura, Miki, Mary Ann, Kylie, Stacy,
Jennifer, Jeanne, Kay Susan, Jeanette, Kellie
Sharon, Paulette, Sydney

Come join us in August around the middle of the month.

  4. I like it! You got the 'weight' of the fruit and the feeling of lots of foliage at the top. Nice work. I need to learn to note down quickly like this, everything I do is slow and painstaking!

  5. You can sometimes capture more in a quick sketch than you could when working on it for hours.

    Good work!

  11. Paulette, I'd definitely give it more than an okay. It is a wonderful lively sketch. I love when a quick sketch captures the essence of the image and yours does.

  18. Paulette, thanks for the comment on my blog. Hmmm...no wonder your name sounds familiar, I see Astig Museum here. I'm a frequent visitor there.

I like your quick sketch. I should come here more often and perhaps do some virtual sketching myself.

I'll link you to mine, if you don't mind.

  24. Indiaartist,
Thank you for checking in. Summer with four kids gets a little crazy so I took a bit of break. I am officially ready for this Tuesday to come. It has been a wonderful lazy summer.
