Virtual sketch date....
I decided at the last minute to jump in on the virtual sketch. I haven't felt like doing much lately (art wise), so when I got to thinking about the virtual sketch this morning, I jumped at doing a quick sketch. I had fun just getting the colours down and not worrying about any thing specific. It is sketchy, but I think I did okay getting across my impression of the photo.
You can go to the Virtual Sketch Date site to see this months photo. It was provided by Leslie Hawes. Thank you Jeanette for hosting!
Here is a list of this months participants:

Hi Paulette. Nice job on your quick one.
ReplyDeleteIt's great!
ReplyDeleteYou're quick!
Thansk for the link.
I like the fast and loose feel! Good job.
ReplyDeleteI like it! You got the 'weight' of the fruit and the feeling of lots of foliage at the top. Nice work. I need to learn to note down quickly like this, everything I do is slow and painstaking!
ReplyDeleteYou can sometimes capture more in a quick sketch than you could when working on it for hours.
ReplyDeleteGood work!
very pretty! nice bright sunny sketch :D
ReplyDeleteIt's fun seeing all the different interpretations. Great yellows in this!
ReplyDeleteI really like your loose-ness on this, really energised drawing.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ladies!
ReplyDeleteI loved looking at all your drawings!
I like the bright, loose look! Nice job.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your quick sketch!
ReplyDeletePaulette, I'd definitely give it more than an okay. It is a wonderful lively sketch. I love when a quick sketch captures the essence of the image and yours does.
ReplyDeletei was never one for still life fruits and all that ;-)
ReplyDeletebut i like the shadows you used. the drawing needs a bit more depth though, but i like how you did it ;-)
I too like the quick, energetic feel of this sketch; and it's very nice of you to take the time to add links to all the participants: I'll do the same for next month!
ReplyDeleteThank you all for visiting and checking out my sketch. I just loved seeing all your different interpretations of the sunquats.
ReplyDeleteLeslie the colours in the photo were great to work with.

ReplyDeletePaulette, thanks for the comment on my blog. Hmmm...no wonder your name sounds familiar, I see Astig Museum here. I'm a frequent visitor there.
ReplyDeleteI like your quick sketch. I should come here more often and perhaps do some virtual sketching myself.
I'll link you to mine, if you don't mind.
Hi Mari,
ReplyDeleteI have stopped by your blog through Pepe's also. He has wonderful work.:)
The new sketch date is set for Aug. 30th with the photo coming up on the 22nd. It would be great if you joined in.

ReplyDeleteIndiaartist,
ReplyDeleteThank you for checking in. Summer with four kids gets a little crazy so I took a bit of break. I am officially ready for this Tuesday to come. It has been a wonderful lazy summer.
