I am back to doing my drawing. These are a couple of WIP pictures as well as a picture of how I am using my easel. Jim gave me a smooth board to put under my paper, although it might be a bit to heavy.
I have mixed feelings about my vase. I had a vision in my head and this wasn't it. I did want it lighter than the source picture. I'll have to see how I feel as I put in the background.
Thank you for all the encouraging comments on the last post. It was so wonderful checking out the Virtual Sketch Date drawings, I believe that 39 people joined in. If you haven't seen them yet, here is a list.

Oooh, this is coming on so nicely! It seems such a slow process with pencils, but well worth it for detail and luminosity. I have the same easel and it is perfect for painting, but if I were to put the pressure on it for pencil work, it would slide down, even if I tighten the screws really hard, but that may just be me not being strong enough!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to seeing your fnished piece.
Hi Kari,
ReplyDeleteThank you!
It fell after my husband put in the bigger board, I think it is too heavy. So I tightened everything up and it seems okay now.
This is beautiful. I am glad I visited.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, can't wait to see the finished piece.
ReplyDeleteThat easel seams perfect to work with.
This is lovely, can't wait to see it finished. I bought myself a sketching easel with telescopic legs and a support for the board that I can tilt - it's great!
ReplyDeleteIndiaartist, thank you!
ReplyDeleteKaly and Kay, I am enjoying the easel. Thank you for the encouragement! I am afraid as you will see in the next post my finish wasn't so great. I am chalking it up to experience.
