Llama.....

I haven't done a pencil drawing in ages! This one is 4x6, graphite on stonehenge.

I know this llama is female, she is probably pregnant and I am not sure on her name. Llamas have one year gestation periods! The matriarch of the group is pregnant and has passed 13 months already. When my cousin talked to the vet, she found out that the older llamas can take as long as 18months to have their babies!

  5. That poor llama is still holding onto that baby. My cousin thinks that the older llamas know that the babies are less work in the womb than out. :P
Thank you for all your nice comments.

  6. Paulette, this is a great sketch/drawing. We lived in Bolivia and Peru and llamas are lovely to look at. Such graceful stride and the way they hold their heads. Nice work. (Poor llama mommies!)
